Backpacks may not be left lying around campus - they are to be stored in your lockers.

 

Our 3 on 3 basketball tournament is down to its final two teams...in the 8th-grade division, we have the Lakers taking on the Pelicans and in our 6th and 7th-grade tournament we have the Heat vs the Bucks.  Both games will be played Wednesday during homeroom in the gym. All homeroom teachers will be notified if they have a player that needs to be allowed to go. Good luck teams

 

Students are not to be wearing hoods while at school, the only exception is EXTREME cold or if it is RAINING. Other than that students are expected to keep their hoods off their head, school consequences will be assigned.

 

Community Christmas Shoppe!  This year Valley View Middle School is hosting a toy collection box for the Community Christmas Shoppe!  The Community Christmas Shoppe provides an opportunity for families in need to select Christmas gifts for their children at no cost.  We have collection boxes in our main office where new toys, games, arts and crafts, or sporting goods can be donated for under-resourced families in our community!  We can accept donations until December 12th! 

 

Valley View Middle School is excited to participate in Operation Shoebox this year!  Pack a shoebox with fun toys, school supplies, or hygiene items for a boy or girl in need!  Drop your box off in the counseling office and let them know your homeroom teacher’s name. The homeroom that turns in the most shoeboxes will earn a prize!  All boxes are due Friday, 11/22/19!

 

The student store will be open for building B and E after announcements.

 

Jamba Juice will be here TODAY after school - just $5 for one of 3 flavors Razzmatazz, Mango or Strawberry/Banana. You will line up at the MPR doors closest to M6 - no running.

 

Administrative detention will be in room B13 after school today from 2:40 - 3:40

Valley View Middle School is hosting a toy collection for the Community Christmas Shoppe!  The Community Christmas Shoppe provides an opportunity for families in need to select Christmas gifts for their children at no cost. Donate an unwrapped toy or game for a child in need! We will accept donations until  December 12th!

The PTSA See's Candies Fundraiser starts today, November 18th. Homeroom teachers will be passing out forms! See's Candies has a variety of delicious chocolates to buy as a thoughtful Holiday gift or yummy treat for yourself. Whatever you choose, please know, you are helping the PTSA raise money for the Valley View students and school. Sell to family and friends over the Thanksgiving Break, turn in your order forms on the first day back and your chocolate will be here for the holidays! 

 

Congratulations to Sam Sahota and Sri Chinatalapati for earning 1st place in their category at the pickleball tournament last week at Hillside- Way to go Vikings!!

Today is Viking Pride day and all students wearing spirit wear or blue and white should receive 2 Valhalla dollars.

 

Tomorrow is College Day 

 

TOMORROW, Nov. 15 is going to be movie night here at Valley View Middle School.  We will be showing The Sandlot on a big screen outside, so bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc. to be comfortable.  There will also be a game area set up for those who prefer to hang out and interact with their friends. This event is for Valley View Students and their families.  There will be many food items for sale including Rock-n-Roll Cafe selling Burgers and Hot dogs, the clubs and departments at VVMS will be selling pizza, soda, water, chips, candy, popcorn, nachos, cotton candy, and baked goods.  This event is free and starts at 4:30 with time to purchase food and talk with friends and then the movie will start shortly after 5:00. All students who are dropped off will need to be picked up between 6:50 - 7:00. We hope to see you there! 

 

Attention students! Our quarterly renaissance celebration will take place in the Gym at 1:30pm TOMORROW! We will have music and food for you to enjoy. Please, check the list in the A hallway to see if your name is on it. If your name is not on the list, and it should be, please let a counselor know, and they will add you to it, if you qualify. To qualify for the renaissance celebration, you need to have earned a 3.5 or higher at the quarter.

We are sorry to everyone that was in line for Jamba Juice yesterday - they have agreed to be here NEXT WEDNESDAY to make up for yesterday. This will be the last Jamba Juice day of 2019. Jamba Juice will resume next February.

The 3 on 3 basketball tournament is getting closer to crowning champions.  In the 6th and 7th grade division we are down to our final four teams consisting of the Heat, Lakers, Hornets, and Bucks.  The 6th and 7th-grade games will have a special date for games on Monday the 18th at lunch. Our 8th-grade division is down to our final two teams, the Lakers and the Pelicans.  Their game will be Wednesday the 20th during homeroom in the gym.
